Nairobi Excursions
Nairobi is the capital city of Kenya, and East Africa's major safari centre.
A tour of the city of Nairobi will recall some of the early days of this now modern city, including stop at the city market, parliament, law courts and the National Museum.
BOMAS OF KENYA
A short drive from the city takes you to the Bomas of Kenya, a cultural center. The Bomas (meaning homestead in Swahili) represent Kenya 's 16 ethnic groups. During your visit you will be entertained with a variety of cultural dances and music- and have an opportunity to learn about Kenya 's diverse ethnic groups.
NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK
Enjoy a morning or an afternoon drive in the National Park located within the city limits of Nairobi Lion, rhino and a great variety of plains game can all be found within the borders of the park.
KAREN BLIXEN &THE GIRAFFE CENTER
Begin with a visit to the former home of famous novelist Karen Von Blixen. The house contains many of her originals pieces along with some pieces donated by the makers of the film, Out of Africa. Stop at the Kazuri Bead Factory where you have an opportunity to see how beads are made. Continue to the Giraffe Center where you have the opportunity to feed the Giraffe from an elevated platform.
CARNIVORE EXPERIENCE
Enjoy lunch or dinner at the popular Carnivore Restaurant where you can sample wildebeest, zebra, crocodile, ostrich and other types of game. (Vegetarian dishes are also available).
